Finished the "Tilted Stack"

Thanks to a day off, I have now had the chance to finish this brightly colored quilt.  I made a paper piece pattern to create the blocks and decided to do a larger version for the back.  I decided to title this one the Tilted Stack.

Testing out a new pattern

I decided to try something a little bit different with this one.  I created a foundation paper piece pattern that I am using to create the blocks.  When I look at it from a far I instantly thought of the 80s and jelly bracelets.  :)

Traditional Block on a Large Scale

I have now seen several variations of large scale traditional blocks in modern colors... and I finally decided to try one.  This quilt top consists of four large squares which are made up of several smaller blocks.  I also decided to quilt as a went.  I now just have to put the backing on and add the binding.  It's not my favorite quilt because of the coloring... but I enjoyed taking a traditional block and using it on a large scale.

Colorful Quilt- Done

Finally after weeks of inactivity I was able to finish this colorful baby quilt.  I chose to create this pattern after being inspired by a graphic design that had a similar chevron look.  I hope to try this with less colors to perfect the look.  The fabric that I did use was from Robert Kaufman.  I used a clear thread for the quilting.

UPDATE: This Pattern is now available for purchase.

Quilt Binding Clips-- Thank you!

Recently, a friend of mine had introduced me to the amazing little binding clips.  The clips are used to hold down the binding while you hand sew the binding in place.  With in ten minutes I was able to clip the binding around an entire quilt.  It was much easier than pinning (and less painful). Thank you to whoever invented these!

Progress on a very colorful quilt

This has been a really fun one to see come together.  I now just have the binding left to sew on.
