I absolutely love my new charm pack... I can't wait until I figure out what I'm going to do with it :)

Stars - Done, now onto the stripes!

My flag quilt is progressing nicely now that all of the stars have been completed. I do plan on adding a blue sashing around the stars to align them better with the rows that I am creating. But for now I just wanted to see how well the red and white stripes would look.

Only 22 More Stars to Go!

My latest WIP is going to eventually be an American flag.  I found some beautiful colonial style fabric at one of my favorite quilt shops in Sun Prairie, WI called JJ Stitches.  After I finish sewing together the stars that I made a paper-piece pattern for I'll start on the stripes.

Finally Wrote the Colorful Quilt Pattern

Thank you so much to those who encouraged me to write this one up.  I ended up calling it Sara's Chevron after my furry roommate.  The pattern uses the foundation paper piecing method.  This method really helped to create the sharp corners and crisp lines.  The pattern is also fat-quarter friendly.  Hopefully others will enjoy making this blanket as much as I did :)

The pattern can be purchased by clicking here.

Colorful Quilt Take Two- Done!!!

I put the finishing stitches on the colorful quilt-take two.  I created this quilt using a paper-piece pattern that I came up with after many many attempts... but I think it was worth it. :)

Fourth of July Inspiration

After seeing all of the stars n' stripes from the weekend, I got inspired to make my own!  I am hoping to turn these starts (plus 36 more that I have yet to make), into my own American flag blanket.

Colorful quilt... not sure if I like the color combination

So, I finished the top of the quilt, however, I am not sure if I like the color combination.  Maybe it will grow on me.
